In a time when many banks are facing challenges, GSB’s is actively contributing to the well-being of our communities. By partnering with local community foundations and directly funding events like parades, concerts, carnivals, and theatrical performances, we support causes that matter to all of us, such as mental health improvement, affordable housing, child protection, and providing for families’ basic needs.
GSB is not only contributing financially, but the volunteerism of our employees also fosters a sense of community spirit and togetherness.

Recently, GSB launched a $20,000 matching donation campaign to support the HOPE Chest of HOPE Partnership. The HOPE Chest is HOPE’s pre-development fund – this funding is used exclusively for pre-development expenses, meaning that every dollar goes toward the affordable housing that HOPE creates.
HOPE Partnership has been advocating for affordable housing in our region for almost twenty years. More than ten years ago, HOPE expanded its work to include development and ownership of affordable housing. HOPE now owns thirty-three apartments and townhouse-style homes across two communities in Centerbrook and Old Saybrook. Those who live in HOPE-owned housing range from individuals to families with children, but all are part of households that need safe, secure, and affordable housing.
HOPE is also a partner in a new development – Wellington, twenty-four affordable that will be breaking ground in Madison in the coming weeks. With this project underway, HOPE is looking to site and start pre-development of its next housing community.
GSB proudly kicked off its three-year partnership with the Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA) by serving as the presenting sponsor of its signature event — the 89th Connecticut Open. In total, the three-day 54-hole golf tournament saw 151 golfers compete for the title — ultimately won by Madison native and former PGA Tour member Brett Stegmaier.
