David Finnerty Named EVP, Chief Operating Officer

The GSB Board of Directors is proud to announce that effective January 1, 2021 David Finnerty has been promoted to the role of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer (COO). David originally joined GSB in 2015 in the role of SVP, Senior Operations Officer.

In his role as COO, David will be primarily responsible for the daily operations and functions of the bank. Reporting directly to the CEO, David will be directly responsible for banking and lending operations, facilities and security, cash management, project management and process improvement. He will monitor and resolve any issues within GSB’s business operations as well as assure company-wide implementation of bank policies and procedures while also facilitating ways to improve upon them.

David is a graduate of Norwich University and earned his M.B.A. from University of New Haven. He is presently in his final year at the Barret School of Banking, with an anticipated graduation in May 2021. He is also Green Belt Certified with Black Belt Training in Lean Six Sigma. Prior to his employment at GSB, David was Director of Client Accounts – Card Operations & Outsourcing Governance with UBS from 2011-2015.

David serves on the Board of Directors at the Essex Historical Society where he also serves as chairman of the Governance Committee. In his spare time, he enjoys staying active by running, weightlifting, hiking and climbing.
