Kris Cricchi at CBA Leader Awards 2024

Kristopher Cricchi Named a 2024 Banking Leader By CT Bankers Association

January 25, 2024

GSB is proud to announce that Controller Kris Cricchi’s leadership and accomplishments have been recognized by the Connecticut Bankers Association (CBA), and he was awarded a 2024 New Leader in Banking at a special awards ceremony held January 11th at the Mohegan Sun.

The CBA represents Connecticut’s financial institutions and serves as the voice of its members in matters of their common interest, and began accepting nominations in early fall and closed the process in October.

Kris is a long-standing employee; he joined GSB in 2011 after graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Economics. Kris quickly rose up through the ranks as someone committed to going the extra mile, and dedicated to helping his colleagues and the organization succeed. He was given increasing scope and challenges across a range of critical responsibilities, including the Bank’s IRR modeling and analysis, liquidity analysis, deposit pricing, and non-core funding maintenance. His strategic approach and expertise in technical financial data are what led to his being promoted to his current role, earlier this year. As Controller, Kris leads the organization’s Accounting and Finance functions, including a staff of six employees.

Kris is a notable example of home-grown talent. He has embraced many opportunities and taken on new challenges to advance his professional development. Not only was Kris a member of GSB’s internal Leadership Development Program, but he’s also a class of 2019 graduate from the CT School of Finance Management program. In addition, he recently graduated from the CBA’s ASPIRE program. Kris gained further experience by serving as committee secretary for Management ALCO, Board ALCO, and Pricing Committee before transitioning to a contributing committee member, and joining the Bank’s strategic direction-setting Leadership Committee.

“We are extremely proud of Kris for his well-deserved recognition from the CBA,” said GSB President and COO, Kyle Eagleson. “His contributions to our bank, his leadership, and his contributions to serving the needs of our colleagues, client and community are worthy of celebration. I am so pleased that this award acknowledges all his hard work, and his commitment. It’s truly well-earned. The sky’s the limit for Kris, and I look forward to seeing all the exciting things still to come in his professional career.”

Kris also lends his expertise to the community through many volunteer efforts. Kris is a board member of the non-profit Guilford Community Fund; a fund that helps ensure that local non-profit agencies receive appropriate financial support. Kris is also an active participant in bank sponsored events and programs.

Congratulations to Kris, and to the other recipients of this distinguished New Leader In Banking award!
