Banking has changed considerably over the years. It used to be that banks would demonstrate their support for a community by opening a branch office to serve the people living nearby. Clients would then come to the branch during the bank’s business hours to handle their financial needs.
Technology has upended this model by giving clients the opportunity to manage their finances through their mobile phone or web browser, giving people 24×7 access to a range of banking activities. It brings the bank directly to the customer.
The pandemic added a new level of urgency to this digital migration as people became reluctant to visit a physical office.
Given the importance of digital, GSB is investing considerable resources into improving its mobile and online banking operations. We have strengthened our digital banking team and have charged them with making sure that clients who bank with us at MyGSB.com or on our mobile app enjoy a seamless experience.
One of our current priorities is including the account opening process. This important digital enhancement, expected to launch Summer 2023, will help you open the deposit accounts you need in 5 minutes or less – online and in the branch.
We are also working on adding new features and functionality to our mobile/online banking system that will allow you to better understand and manage your financial lives. In addition, we are evaluating innovative technology to enhance and humanize how we serve you, along with making it easy for you to connect with our banking experts to make sure your questions are answered quickly and thoroughly.
